PLTC 2008 - Serving With Humility :: Leading By Example

The great tradition of the Fajar Peer Leaders lives on.

The customary campfire night was extra special. The 40 trainees put up an excellent show. The cheers and songs must have reached the heavens. The fire lit up the darkness around.

However, for me, it was seeing senior PLs coming back to their 'birthplace', where Peer Leaders were born and nurtured.

Welcome home, senior PLs.

You must understand, your very presence sends a strong message to the trainees. The message is this - the PLs are united even if they hail from various batches down through the years.

It is my fervent wish that this 'homecoming' continues down through the years. In years to come, let's have 10, 15 batches of Peer Leaders coming back. I even dare to think of PLs bring along their spouses and kids for future campfires.

Let's hope Jalan Bahtera has enough benches for us to sit!

To the PL Mentors - Nuraini, Kamila, Fransisca, Zubaidah, Syafiqah, Cai Ling, Azmeran, Nizam, Ming Hui, Atiqah, Amirah; together with Amelea, Seraphina, Pei Shi, Sebastian, Hanafi and Azfar - thank you for your hard work and personal sacrifice.

You spent entire afternoons working and planning for this PLTC.

Now that the camp is over, I am sure you can see the fruits of your labour. The camp went well simply because it was well-planned.

I hope that the whole planning experience was worth it for you.

And so it now leaves me to say to you all: to the PLs and the PL Mentors - you have done a good job.

It has been a pleasure working with you all.

Have a good rest!
